Trophy for Champion Wine of the Show – NZ Organic Wine Awards 2020
Trophy for Champion Pinot Gris – NZ Organic Wine Awards 2020
Gold Medal – NZ Organic Wine Awards 2020
The Peregrine Pinot Gris 2019 has picked up Gold, Trophy and Champion Wine of the Show at the Organic Wine Awards which is an amazing achievement considering wine judges tend to pick varieties such as Pinot Noir or Chardonnay as the 'ultimate' wines. Dry and fulsome on the plate this is truly benchmark stuff.
Winery notes (2019 Vintage)
"Fresh and bright aromatics of apricot, pear and ginger. A luscious palate with layers of citrus, stonefruit and spice. Our organic Pinot Gris is dry in style showing lovely ripe fruit and a subtle texture from a small portion of barrel fermentation. The cooler climate of Central Otago allows us to maintain a refreshing acidity and great length on the palate."
93/100 Cameron Douglas MS, December 2019 (2019 Vintage)
"Attractive, fleshy, fruity, varietal and enticing bouquet of Pinot Gris with aromas of ripe, sweet pear, quince, red apple and leesy residue with a whisper of fresh beer. On the palate – texture, fine, fruity, varietal, spicy, textured and well made. Flavours reflect the nose, medium+ acidity and a lengthy flavoursome finish. Drink now and through 2022."
