Gold Medal & 95/100 – Sydney Wine Show 2022
Established in 1983 by Neil and Alison Paullet, in the beautiful Clare Valley sub-region of Polish Hill, Paullets remains a family run winery. Early on they established a vineyard restaurant as they always believed that their wines should match food and the wines always have a sense of drinkability about them.. makes sense.
Winery notes (2019 Vintage)
"Our award-winning, medium bodied 2019 Polish Hill River Shiraz is fruit driven and full of dark fruit flavours and chocolate. The fine textured tannins and lovely soft oak influence make this Clare Valley Regional Red a perfect match for food but also mellow enough to enjoy on its own. Oak Maturation: 18 months in French & American Oak.
Deep bright red, purple hue. Dark fruited featuring dark cherry and plum. Underlying sweet spices, dark chocolate & vanillin. Full bodied, rich round & fleshy. Dark fruits are obvious with some nice red cherry/berry characters. Well-integrated oak & dusty fine tannins lead to a long persistent finish."
96/100 Winestate Magazine – World's Greatest Shiraz Challenge (2019 Vintage)
"Deep red wine with loads of plum and cherry-like fruit characters nicely supported by the spicy oak and an earth/chocolatey suggestion and nice slippery tannins."
