Winery notes (2019 Vintage)
"The classic varietal notes of lychee and rose petal are matched with stonefruit and fresh lemon aromas. This wine is just off dry with a rich, rounded, generous palate and lovely concentration. Floral, citrus and juicy tropical fruit flavours combine to produce a full-flavoured wine with a gentle balance of acidity and a weighty mouthfeel. Delicious!"
95/100 NWWA (2019 Vintage)
"Perennial multi-award winner with Gewürz (try saying "ga-vertz"), Lawson's Dry Hills is at the top of the premier league with this variety. If you enjoy fragrant mild spicy food such as south-east Asian stir fries, biryani or paprika/saffron infused paella, this will elevate your enjoyment with its tropical fruit, rose petal and rock melon and ginger notes, with a prolonged creamy finish."
4 ½ Stars Michael Cooper (2019 Vintage)
"One of the country’s most impressive Gewürztraminers. Grown in the Home Block and nearby Woodward Vineyard, at the foot of the Wither Hills, it is typically harvested at about 24 brix and mostly fermented in stainless steel tanks; a small part of the blend (5 to 10 per cent) is given ‘the full treatment’, with a high-solids, indigenous yeast ferment in seasoned French oak barriques, malolactic fermentation and lees-stirring. The 2019 vintage is a mouthfilling, youthful wine, bright, light lemon/green, with delicate peach, pear and spice flavours, fresh acidity, a distinct touch of complexity (from 11 per cent barrel fermentation), and a finely textured, off-dry (6 grams/litre of residual sugar), lingering finish. Best drinking 2022+."
