Winery Notes (2018 Vintage)
"Very small parcels of fruit from vineyards up to 100 years old are hand-picked, fermented with some whole-bunches and blended to make this traditional Barossan wine. Racked once during elevage of 12 months in larger barrels (some new) and always with a small addition of Old Vine Grenache for balance. Showing all the richness of fruit you would expect from Barossan Shiraz at its best."
95/100 Huon Hooke, April 2019 (2018 Vintage)
"Very deep, bright purple/red colour. Youthfully bright but subdued aromas of violet and mixed spices, fruit driving the show. The palate is tightly-focused and firm, a clenched fist, with dramatic drive and intensity. Superb flavour, freshness and vitality, with a lingering after-palate. (A new wine, all Eden Valley. Vine age ranges 35 to 100 years old. 20% new oak). Drink 2019 – 2034."
95/100 Gary Walsh, The Wine Front, April 2019 (2018 Vintage)
"Explosive blue and black fruit, a little vanilla, baking spices, sage and flowers. Medium bodied, smooth and juicy in fruit, but deep, playful almost, with rich silky tannin, and impressive length. The 2018 vintage looks to be a very good one for Head."
