Odile and Jean-Max Manceau bought Domaine de Noiré in 2001, since then they have devoted themselves to returning the vineyard to its former glory. The philosophy of the domain is to offer quality wines that accurately reflect the landscape in which they have been nurtured. As a result, all the vintages possess delicacy, elegance and character. Domaine de Noiré and its respected wines are situated at Noiré, first classified as an area producing top quality Chinon wine at the beginning of the 20th century.
Really inviting on the nose with ripe dark fruits, smoky and leafy with lovely fresh herbs. Nice chew and a purity with velvety tannins on the finish. Really balanced and pretty on the palate – excellent representation of variety and region.. Vines are 35-50 years old. The wine is fermented and matured in stainless steel tanks. Focus here is on purity of fruit.
90/100 Decanter, April 2022 (2018 Vintage)
"Deep plum colour, black cherry aromas and a dense core of fruit, with ripe tannins. Carries its alcohol well. Well balanced, with a long finish"
