Seductively smooth, sensually soft, subtly sweet, mouthfillingly moreish, unashamedly addictive, decadently Pinotage. Wafts of fresh chocolate on the nose with full flavourful chocolatey notes on the palate followed by distinctively chocolate aftertaste, all artfully balanced by perfectly ripe Pinotage.
Winery notes (2020 Vintage)
"A vibrant display of a wide range of fruit and flavours that includes Turkish delight, chocolate, red and black cherries, vanilla, red plum and butterscotch. Just to name a few…. The flavours follow through on the palate with an amazing structure and smooth supple tannins. This wine is perfectly balanced and well put together."
Darling Cellars is on the West Coast between Malmesbury and Darling. The cool, temperate climate lends itself to a variety of different micro and mesoclimates which along with the different soil types lead to very defined wine styles. The Chocoholic Pinotage is sourced from bush vines on decomposed granite soils.
Rated Outstanding & 95/100 Decanter Tasting Panel, January 2022 (2020 Vintage)
"Greg Sherwood MW – The nose shows a layered complexity of black cherry, kirsch liquor notes, blueberry and vinyl. Opulent palate with seamless tannins, harmonious acids and a creamy, long length.
Roger Jones – Cocoa and espresso on nose. On palate an explosion of berries and velvet. A fruit bomb, but great acidity and freshness.
Victoria Mason – Espresso and roasted coffee aromas over black and red plum fruit. Concentrated palate with cherry fruit and distinctive smoke bacon."
