In the wine growing map for the Regierungsbezirk Trier, made in 1868 by the royal cadastre inspector Steuerrath Clotten, this wine growing area is already shown as a top location. The typical slate soil with its high minerality gives this wine intense fruit and a long lasting taste. The wine is harmonious, balanced and stands as an example for a top Riesling.
