"Deep red with brick hues. Lifted berry, cinnamon, nutmeg and dried oregano aromas. The palate doesn’t disappoint with a multitude of flavours melding together to form the wines flavour, starting with red berries and anise. On release the tannins for the fruit and oak are firm and long, the generosity of fruit is balanced by an elegance provided by natural acidity. The wine is full bodied and complete."

"Cabernet blend, not to be messed with. It’s stern, tannic and warm. Something I like about this wine is that it rolls out the punches and lets you deal with them; it’s an unapologetic style of wine. It’s beefy, curranty, toasty and substantial, with dusty/leafy cabernet characters as afterthoughts. Just watch those tannin unfurls. Just feel the grunt of it. The press release accompanying the wine describes it as “floral and elegant”. That’s about the last way I’d describe it."

Certainly one of the best Barossa Bordeaux blends, with a full display of cassis/blackcurrant fruit tempered by perfectly weighted tannins, oak a means to an end, not an end in itself."

"A blend of 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Cabernet Franc, 21% Petit Verdot and 10% Merlot from ‘St Kitts’, ‘Milton Park’ and ‘Kabininge’, fermented to 14.5% alc., the wine aged 12 months in French oak. Very full, deep, near impenetrable black-red colour. The nose is full with deeply packed and harmoniously integrated aromas of ripe black berried fruits interwoven with earth, dark herbs, and spices, unfolding ethereal layers of eucalyptus and cedar. Medium-full bodied, the palate features a softly concentrated heart of black berried fruits, dark and dried herbs, spices, cedar and earth. The flavours fill the mouth, and the wine has plenty of balancing structure and extraction providing a fine, grainy grip and dry, textural mouthfeel. The tannins carry the soft and fulsome flavours to a warm and generous finish. This is a harmoniously interwoven Cabernet blend with layers of blackberry, herb, earth and cedary flavours and a fulsome, grainy-textured palate. Match with casseroles and slow-cooked game meat dishes over the next 5-7 years."
