Winery notes (2016 Vintage)
"Award winning winemaker David Clouston has created the stylishly tailored Stella Sauvignon Blanc. Inspired by eco conscious fashionistas this Marlborough wine collaborates pureness & sensuality. Passionfruit verve infused with lavish condiments of fresh lime, lemon & capsicum. Classic confidence & sexy femininity… this natural pedigree will give you more than a whiff of romance.

Notes of fresh herb, elderflower & river stone, bursting with juicy fruit salad flavours - melon, white peach, passionfruit & citrus peel. Lovely saline focus yet generous in expression & texture."
5 Stars & 94/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, September 2016 (2016 Vintage)
"A gorgeous sauvignon, the intensely aromatic nose shows passionfruit, nectarine, rockmelon and lemongrass characters, followed by a concentrated palate that is succulent and vibrant. The wine displays loads of delicious flavours together with fine texture and attractive mouthfeel, leading to a superbly long tasty finish. At its best: now to 2019."
5 Stars & 18.5-/20 Raymond Chan, September 2016 (2016 Vintage)
"Bright, very pale straw-yellow colour with light green hues, very light edged. This has a soft and gently voluminous nose with finely concentrated aromas of ripe passionfruit and subtle tropical fruit notes, and piquant fresh herbs unfolding nuances of cut grass. The aromatics are very harmonious in presentation. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate is gently sweet and rich with a core of passionfruit and tropical fruit flavours, along with lifted herbal detail that unfolds to fill the mouth. This combines rich and sweet fruit with refreshing, mouthwatering, lacy acidity, and the wine flows along a very fine-textured line with good poise and tension. The wine carries to a long, sustained finish of sweet passionfruit. This is a softly rich and succulent, passionfruity Sauvignon Blanc with fresh acidity, refined textures and a lingering finish. Serve with seafood, salads and vegetables, and Pacific Rim fare over the next 2 years. Fruit from the Awatere Valley, Lower Wairau, Southern Valleys and Upper Wairau, cool-fermented in tank to 13.0% alc. and 2.7 g/L RS."
4 Stars Michael Cooper (2016 Vintage)
'Inspired by eco conscious fashionistas', the punchy, appetisingly crisp 2016 vintage is unfolding well. Retasted in March 2017, it is mouthfilling and vibrantly fruity, with good intensity of melon and green capsicum flavours, fresh, dry (2.7 grams/litre residual sugar), lively and lingering.
