Winery notes (2017 Vintage)
"Award winning winemaker David Clouston has created the soaring soulful Jagger Pinot Gris. A delivery that defies categorisation, this eclectic Marlborough wine resonates the smooth rhapsody of rock. A tender ballad of subtle sweetness flaunted with silky unadulterated ripe pear spice. Expressive aromatic character & a distinctive vibe… a wine designed to move your body & deepen your soul.

A lovely, elegant Pinot Gris, filled with aromas of fresh pear, spice & jasmine. Textured & dry in style, this elegant wine has a hint of pear drop, mineral notes & a lovely spicy, mandarin peel finish. Well-balanced with a great mouthfeel & purity."
5 Stars & 94/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, October 2017 (2017 Vintage)
"A delectable pinot gris, the gorgeous bouquet shows yellow stone fruit, pear, orange peel and jasmine characters with a hint of spice complexity. It is succulent and plush on the palate, and offers excellent weight and intensity, wonderfully supported by perfectly pitched acidity. Flavoursome and satisfying. At its best: now to 2020."
4 Stars & 17.5/20 Raymond Chan, October 2017 (2017 Vintage)
"Bright, light straw-yellow colour with a suggestion of blush, pale on the rim. The nose is softly fresh with moderate depth and a rounded core of yellow stonefruits, exotic florals, along with savoury honey, and steely minerals. Off-dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate ha a good heart of yellow stonefruits and minerals with floral notes and a little honeysuckle. This has good palate presence and linearity, the wine flowing along a positive line with the fruit richness balanced by fine acidity. The flavours carry to a oft, ethereal finish of exotic fruits and florals. This is a dryish Pinot Gris with a good core of yellow stonefruits, minerals, florals and honeysuckle with positive liner flow. Match with Middle Eastern cuisine over the next 3 years. Fruit from the Awatere and Southern Valleys, cool-fermented to 13.0% alc. and 5.3 g/L RS."
