"​Deep red with purple hues. Brooding blackberry aromas with hints of white pepper and sweet toasted oak entice. Flavours of dark berries burst across the palate, complemented by notes of chocolate and shots of espresso. A full-bodied wine with a richly textured structure and long, lingering finish. Classic Shiraz, classic McLaren Vale, simply delicious."

"​Shinglebacks are  nuggetty, stumpy lizards that enjoy the sunshine at this highly regarded McLaren Vale estate. The Davey Estate opens with vibrant red and black berry aromas, sweet spice and dusty oak, all in impressive equilibrium. The palate is profound, with smooth, succulent fruit, perfect balance and a firm spice of tannins. It calls for an extravagant dish like a roast fillet of beef."

"Very deep red/purple colour, young and bright. The aromas are dense, concentrated and essency, the palate full-bodied and powerful but not a blockbuster and not so tannic that you cant enjoy it young. There's flesh and softness in the tannins. Neither does oak dominate: it's driven by blackberry and black plum fruit, the whole entity well-balanced and complete. A deep, dense, full-bodied shiraz, which has excellent balance and can already be enjoyed."
