SERESIN PINOT NOIR 2013 is available to buy in increments of 1
We've never seen a deal like this from Seresin before and we just couldn't go past it. This takes sub $20 Pinot Noir into a more serious and savoury side. From a very good vintage, biodynamically grown fruit mostly from Seresin's own Raupo Creek vineyard in the Omaka Valley has been indigenous yeast fermented and aged in barrel for 11 months, add in some bottle maturation and now we're looking real good indeed.
Winery notes (2013 Vintage)
"2013 was an excellent vintage for Marlborough. A calm spring allowed for even flowering and berry set, and an initially warm summer was tempered by cooler temperatures after veraison – allowing slower maturation of the fruit, encouraging retention of acidity and development of more complex flavour compounds.

The fruit comes mostly from our clay-rich hillside Raupo Creek vineyard in the Omaka Valley, with a small amount also from the alluvial shingles of our Tatou vineyard and the Noa vineyard, which is made up of Waimakariri type soils of alluvial origin."
91/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, November 2013 (2013 Vintage)
"The bouquet is seductive and savoury, displaying dark berry, smoked game, clove and nutmeg characters with nuances of dried herbs and earthy mushrooms. The palate is ripe and beautifully weighted, and offers silky texture and ripe berry undertones, wonderfully framed by polished tannins."
4 Stars Raymond Chan, November 2016 (2013 Vintage)
"Darkish ruby-red colour with garnet hues on the rim. The bouquet is full with aromas of dark-red cherry and berry fruit along with subtle notes of dark herbs, red floral and earth and a suggested on lifted volatility, unfolding raspberry liqueur, nutty and mineral elements with aeration. Medium-bodied the palate is up-front and vigorous with lively flavours of dark-red berry and black cherry fruit entwined with raspberry liqueur, red floral and earthy elements. Some lift is noticeable. The mouthfeel is robust with plenty of grainy tannin extraction and brisk acidity lending grip and texture. The flavours are carried by the structure and acidity to a receding finish with dark-red berry and earthy flavours. This is a vigorous and robust Pinot Noir with dark-red berry fruit flavours, lifted florals and earthy notes on a grainy, grippy palate. Match with grilled game meat and casseroles over the next 5+ years. Clone 155, 777 and 10/5 fruit primarily from the ‘Raupo Creek’ vineyard, Omaka with fruit from the ‘Tatou’ and ‘Noa’ sites, hand-picked, fully destemmed and indigenous yeast fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 11 months in 10% new French oak barriques. Certified BioGro organic."
