Winery notes (2014 Vintage)
"Rich, dark fruit with hints of violets and soft, supple tannins are the hallmarks of this ripe and classy wine. Beautifully balanced, it will evolve over 6-10 years in the cellar."
94/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit (2014 Vintage)
"This is a beautifully composed syrah displaying fabulous aromas of dark plum, mixed spice, smoked meat and cedar on the nose. The palate is concentrated and plush, and delivers excellent fruit richness and power, wonderfully enhanced by velvety texture and rounded tannins. The wine is harmonious, expressive and gloriously drinkable. At its best: now to 2024."
4 1/2 Stars Michael Cooper (2014 Vintage)
"Grown in the Bridge Pa Triangle and barrel-aged for over a year, the 2014 vintage was oak-aged for nine months. Deeply coloured, it is mouthfilling, with dense, very ripe blackcurrant and spice flavours, a hint of liquorice, and good complexity. A powerful, extroverted wine, it's already drinking well, but also age-worthy."
4 Stars & 17.5+/20 Raymond Chan, June 2016 (2014 Vintage)
"Full, dark, black-red colour with lighter purple hues on the rim. This has a tightly concentrated, slightly reserved bouquet showing savoury dark-red berry fruits intermingling with spices, subtle pepper elements, and nutty, bacon-like oak nuances. Some cedary earthiness adds a complexing layer to the aromatics. Medium-full bodied, finely concentrated and intense flavours of savoury and spicy red fruits form a fine-grained, concentrated core with balanced extraction and structure. The palate reveals spices, nutty and bacony oak, and earthy notes adding interest. This has good linearity which carries the flavours to a long, lingering dry and fine-textured finish of spices and savoury red fruit. This is an elegantly concentrated Syrah with savoury and spicy dark red fruits and bacony oak forming fine-grained, linear core. Match with Middle Eastern lamb dishes over the next 5+ years. Primarily MS clone fruit with a small portion of first crop 470 clone fruit, from the ‘Redmetal’ vineyard, the MS clone vines 12 y.o., fermented to 14.0% alc., the wine aged 9 months in 15% new oak."
