Trophy for Champion Rosé – Global Wine Challenge 2021
Taking out the Rosé Trophy at the Global Fine Wine Challenge 2021 is quite an achievement for this much loved Central Otago Rosé. Add this to the great reviews it has received this season and wow!
Winery notes (2021 Vintage)
"This refreshing style Rosé was made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes, grown on our family owned vineyard. The vibrant pink colour resulted from a gentle whole bunch press. The juice was fermented in stainless steel to retain the varietal and fruit characteristics.
The wine shows delightful aromas of strawberry, peach and blossom with an abundance of pink grapefruit, sherbet and melon on the palate. A perfect summer aperitif and is best served chilled."
94/100 Bob Campbell MW, The Real Review, July 2021 (2021 Vintage)
"Attractively-scented pinot noir rosé, with moderately intense flavours of strawberry, raspberry and watermelon. A charming wine in a fairly robust and, thankfully, dry style"
5 Stars & 93/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, July 2021 (2021 Vintage)
"Offering fabulous poise and purity, the wine shows sweet strawberry, nectarine, apple and floral aromas on the nose, followed by a juicy palate offering fine texture and vibrant acidity. It's light and super tasty. At its best: now to 2023."
4 ½ Stars Michael Cooper, January 2022 (2021 Vintage)
"The impressive 2021 vintage was made from Pinot Noir, estate-grown and hand-harvested at Cromwell. Bright pink, it is very fresh and lively, with good body and vibrant strawberry and watermelon flavours, dry (3 grams/litre of residual sugar) and lingering."
92/100 Cameron Douglas MS, October 2021 (2021 Vintage)
"Another classic example from the WT team – fresh, ripe, fruity and vivacious with flavours of fresh red melon and tropical fruits, cherry and raspberry with a topline of spring flowers and home made rose turkish jelly. Acidity and freshness capture and hold all these flavours together. Well made and ready to drink from 2021 through 2023."
