Winery Notes (2016 Vintage)
"This Chardonnay was made from grapes grown on our family owned vineyard. Ripe hand picked fruit and barrel fermentation in French oak has given a wonderfully balanced wine with rich texture and fruit. The wine shows delightful aromas of peaches and melon with citrus and hints of butterscotch on the palate."

4 Stars Michael Cooper (2016 Vintage)
"Retasted in April 2018, the 2016 vintage was estate-grown at Cromwell, hand-picked and fermented and matured for eight months in French oak casks (30 per cent new). Light lemon/green, with a fragrant, slightly biscuity bouquet, it shows good weight and harmony, with mouthfilling body, strong, ripe grapefruit/apple flavours, and a subtle seasoning of oak adding complexity. Still fresh and youthful, it should be at its best 2019+."

4 Stars & 17.5+/20 Raymond Chan, August 2017 (2016 Vintage)
"Brilliant straw-yellow colour with pale gold hues, lighter on the edge. The nose is moderately full and well-concentrated with aromas of white peaches and citrus fruits entwined with nutty, flinty and mineral notes, along with creamy barrel-ferment and MLF nuances. Marzipan and toasty oak elements unfold in the glass. Medium-bodied, the palate is rich and lively with a concentrated core of white peaches and citrus fruits, melded with nutty oak and creamy barrel-ferment and MLF layers, unfolding some toastiness. The mouthfeel features fresh acidity and the wine flows along a light-textured line, carrying a little grip, leading to a lingering nutty and toasty finish. This is a moderately concentrated and well-flavoured Chardonnay with peachy fruit, creamy and butty notes and toasty oak on a palate with light grip. Match with roasted poultry and pork over the next 4 years. Hand-picked clone 95 fruit from the ‘Wooing Tree; vineyard, full barrel-fermented to 13.0% alc., the wine aged 8 months in 30% new oak, undergoing batonnage and MLF."

90/100 Gary Walsh, The Wine Front, June 2018 (2016 Vintage)
"Bran, some vanilla, citrus and the like. Fresh acidity, vanilla oak through white peach, lively acidity, perhaps a bit choppy, not great depth of flavour, but attractive texture. Pretty, and pretty nice."
