Winery Notes (2021 Vintage)
"Wild Folk shines a light on wines made without artifice and intervention. Fruit nurtured in the vineyard, handled gently in the winery without additions that taste as nature intended. No fining or filtration and no sulphur means these are natural expressions of the varieties and the regions were grown in.
Wild yeast fermented, no additions, vegan friendly, preservative free, unfined and unfiltered – nothing but fermented grapes at their finest. Perfect on their own or with food these are drink now styles that are dangerously drinkable.
This is such an honest expression of Shiraz from the Barossa exhibiting both freshness and flavour. It combines dark berries, spice and a soft framework of tannins that make for an explosive mouthful of deliciousness. Drink over the next two years with your favourite charcuterie or something char-grilled on the barbecue."

"Richly fruited and enticing with black/blueberry, potpourri, clove and pepper spice notes, it's concentrated and weighty in the mouth with velvety texture and fine-grained tannins. Opulent and structured with a persistent delicious finish. At its best: now to 2029."
92/100 Regan Drew, vinonotebook.com.au, January 2022 (2021 Vintage)
"This label from the Fourth Wave Wine team and made with usual suspect collaborator Corey Ryan. Label reminds me of the Mothman. Fruit from old Barossa vines, made with no added sulphites and wild yeast fermentation. Bottled unfiltered and unfined. Vegan friendly. DIAM cork (and a wax seal).
Opaque garnet and bright rim. No oak here, stainless steel fermentation to keep things bright and fresh. Sweaty leather, dark berry fruit and blood plum, ferrous spine and soft clove and white pepper spice. Silky, supple and satiny. Choco plum and licorice with hyper fine tannins. Well structured with a juicy finish. Points for juicy drinkability."

"For fans of Preservative Free, this is a seriously impressive Barossa Shiraz and one of the best value in the market. Deep opaque in colour, it is chock-a-block full of bright, vibrant fruits – blackberry jam and liquorice allsorts which are topped off with dark earthy savoury tones that lift it high – this is one serious shiraz. In the mouth that fruit brightness hits the accelerator, with fleshy blackberries and attractive cocoa tones underpinned by soft tannins before quite a long and powerful finish. It is a triumph for easy drinking, preservative free shiraz."
