Winery notes (2020 Vintage)
"A classic representaion of Sauvignon Blanc from the Wairau Valley in Marlborough, bursting with aromatic tropical fruit characters found in this warmer sub-region. This wine displays powerful aromas of blackcurrant, passionfruit and ripe rock-melon. The palate has an enticing array of ripe citrus mixed with pungent herbs such as fresh rosemary, finishing with subtle acidity."
Rated Excellent & 94/100 Cameron Douglas MS (2020 Vintage)
"Powerful bouquet with aromas of ripe citrus and white orchard fruits, sweet herbs and passionfruit. This theme embraces the palate too with flavours that reflect the nose, salivating acidity, a salty grapefruit layer and a satin leesy textured energy. Youthful too needing just a little cellar time, but also delicious today with fresh shellfish and crisp summer dishes"
5 Stars Michael Cooper (2020 Vintage)
"An authoritative wine, it is typically ripe and zingy, with impressive weight and length of flavour, and tends to be fuller in body, less herbaceous and rounder than its Clifford Bay stablemate (above). The contributing vineyards vary from vintage to vintage, but Peter and Deborah Jackson's warm, stony vineyard in the heart of the valley has long been a key source of grapes, and sometimes a small part of the blend is barrel-fermented, to enhance its complexity and texture. The youthful 2020 vintage was handled entirely in tanks. Bright, light yellow/green, it is mouthfilling, with concentrated, ripe tropical-fruit flavours, fresh, dry (2.9 grams/litre of residual sugar), crisp and long."
5 Stars & 95/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, September 2020 (2020 Vintage)
"Powerfully expressed and immediately appealing, the bouquet shows ripe nectarine, feijoa, kaffir lime and lemon sorbet characters, leading to a concentrated palate that's magnificently flavoursome and mouthfilling. The wine exhibits outstanding fruit purity combined with textural mouthfeel, finishing impressively long and vibrant. At its best: now to 2025."
