Winery notes (2019 Vintage)
"The fruit for this wine comes from a combination of vineyards with varying soils and viticultural techniques from the Southern Valley tributaries of the main Wairau Valley. The common thread between the vineyards was an unrelenting focus on vine health, achieved by careful yield adjustments and water management, as well as a balanced approach to vine nutrition.
A classic representation of Sauvignon Blanc from the Wairau Valley in Marlborough, bursting with aromatic tropical fruit characters found in this warmer sub-region. The 2019 Wairau Valley Reserve Sauvignon Blanc displays powerful aromas of blackcurrant, passionfruit and guava. The palate has an enticing array of ripe citrus fruits mixed with pungent herbs such as fresh rosemary, finishing with subtle acidity."
94/100 Cameron Douglas MS, April 2020 (2019 Vintage)
"Intense, exotic, layers of fruit and wet stone aromas, fresh and dried herb, a whisper of savoury hay and nettle. On the palate – delicious! herbaceous, zesty, fresh, crunchy, fruity, ripe, fleshy, varietal and lively. I really like the flavours of lime and basil, red and green apple, pineapple, lemon zest and pear. lengthy finish – lots to like about this wine. Drink now and through 2023."
5 Stars & 94/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, April 2020 (2019 Vintage)
"This is terrific; the inviting bouquet shows green rockmelon, feijoa, lemon/lime peel and white floral notes, leading to a powerfully expressed palate that's delicious and lingering. The wine offers pristine fruit flavours backed by refreshing acidity, finishing energetic and very tasty. At its best: now to 2024."

Reviews for the 2018 vintage below…
5 Stars & 95/100 Bob Campbell MW, The Real Review, September 2018 (2018 Vintage)
"Softer and broader than its sister sauvignon blanc from Clifford Bay with passionfruit, sherbet dab, floral, and lemongrass flavours. The wine has a pleasing sweet-and-sour tension and appealing purity."
5 Stars Michael Cooper (2018 Vintage)
"An authoritative wine, it is typically ripe and zingy, with impressive weight and length of flavour, and tends to be fuller in body, less herbaceous and rounder than its Clifford Bay stablemate (above). The contributing vineyards vary from vintage to vintage, but Peter and Deborah Jackson's warm, stony vineyard in the heart of the valley has long been a key source of grapes, and sometimes a small part of the blend is barrel-fermented, to enhance its complexity and texture. The youthful 2018 vintage was handled entirely in tanks. Weighty and fleshy, it is deliciously concentrated, with well-ripened tropical-fruit flavours, fresh, dry (3.3 grams/litre of residual sugar) and lasting."
