Gold Medal – New Zealand International Wine Show 2019
Winery notes (2018 Vintage)
"Predominantly sourced from our iconic Keltern Vineyard, barrel fermented and perfectly blended to produce a distinctive wine, this Chardonnay reveals a fragrant nose of ripe stone fruit, with complexing toast and vanilla characters from French oak. The wine is matured ‘sur lie’ (on yeast lees) adding further richness and texture prior to bottling."
Reviews for the 2017 vintage below…
5 Stars & 94/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, March 2019 (2017 Vintage)
"This is elegant and gorgeously complex on the nose showing ripe stone fruit, fig, vanilla, nougat and hazelnut characters, leading to a succulent palate that is wonderfully weighted and creamy. It is generous and richly textured, while remaining poised and refined, finishing persistent and delightfully drinkable. At its best: now to 2021."
90/100 Cameron Douglas MS, February 2019 (2017 Vintage)
"Rather nice bouquet of Chardonnay with scents of vanilla and wood spice, ripe apple and yellow stone fruits, baked cashew and baking spice. Dry, nutty, spicy and fruity on the palate with flavours that reflect the nose, medium+ body with silky almost creamy texture. Plenty of acidity and freshness. A charming and immediately enjoyable example. Drink now and through 2022."
