Winery notes (2019 Vintage)
"This wine originates from selected vineyards in the Awatere and Southern valleys of Marlborough made to reflect the individuality of their sites. A fragrant bouquet of red and dark cherries, red berry fruit and subtle spice notes, this wine is concentrated and juicy.
Our 2019 Cellar Selection Marlborough Pinot Noir has aromatics reminiscent of freshly roasted coffee beans and red summer fruits such as cherries and berries. On the palate, a subtle hint of toasty oak nicely frames the juicy fruit, earthy texture and soft velvety tannins."
5 Stars & 93/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, September 2020 (2019 Vintage)
"The beautifully scented bouquet shows sweet cherry, toasted spice, black tea and roasted nut characters on the nose with discreet notes of game and mushroom. It’s wonderfully layered on the palate, offering succulent fruit flavours and fleshy texture. The wine displays excellent precision as well as enticing savoury complexity. At its best: now to 2025."
4 Stars Michael Cooper (2019 Vintage)
"This is typically one of the country's best-value Pinot Noirs. The graceful 2019 vintage was matured in French oak barriques (15 per cent new). Bright ruby, it is full-bodied and supple, with very good depth of fresh cherry, plum and spice flavours, a slightly earthy streak, and good complexity. Best drinking 2022+."
