Winery notes (2019 Vintage)
"Classically Hawkes Bay in style this Chardonnay reveals a fragrant nose of grilled peach and nectarine stone fruit, with complexing cashew characters from subtle French oak. A silken textured mouthfeel unfolds with layers of fruit, delicate oak spice and subtle mealy flavours topped with wonderful acidity.
The 2019 Hawkes Bay vintage was exceptionally warm, dry and settled, allowing the vast majority of fruit to be harvested across the region with ripe flavours and in pristine condition.
Fruit from several prestigious Chardonnay vineyards throughout Hawkes Bay feature in this wine. Once harvested and pressed the resulting juice was fermented in a mixture of oak barriques (10% new) prior to 11 months maturation on full yeast lees."
5 Stars & 93/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, June 2020 (2019 Vintage)
"It's delightfully fruited and inviting on the nose showing apricot, rockmelon, fig and vanillin oak characters, leading to a succulent palate that's beautifully rounded and creamy. The wine offers delectable flavours of ripe fruits and elegant oak nuances, finishing long and silky. At its best: now to 2023."

"A top buy. Already drinking well, the 2018 vintage is a full-bodied wine, with strong, ripe stone-fruit flavours to the fore, slightly smoky and toasty notes adding a distinct touch of complexity, fresh acidity and a dry, finely balanced finish. Best drinking 2021+."
