A bright and expressive – a charming Barbera from the experts. Vietti have a serious interest in Barbera, while conditions in their town of Alba adds to the grape's natural generosity. With lovely ripe fruit against bright aromatics and fresh acidity, this is serious gear for the Piedmont lover.
91/100 Monica Larner, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (2017 Vintage)
"After its malolactic fermentation in small wood casks and a year in botte grande, the totally unfiltered 2017 Barbera d'Alba Tre Vigne shows up as soft, immediate and rich, with nice little chocolate notes around the borders. Impressively, the various parcels of vines for this wine are all in the middle of the prestigious Barolo appellation. The word around the estate is that 2016 was a better vintage, but this was an attractive expression in itself and would be a hearty companion to any hearty pasta dish. About 28,000 bottles were made. Drink 2019 – 2024."
90/100 Vinous (2017 Vintage)
"The 2017 Barbera d'Asti Tre Vigne is a gorgeous entry-level Barbera in the Vietti range. Dark, plush and resonant, the 2017 captures all of the natural richness of the year. Black cherry, plum, chocolate, leather, licorice, spice and menthol are all pushed forward in a heady, exotically ripe Barbera that will drink well upon release."
