Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Viognier, Pinot Noir, Syrah, Riesling & Tempranillo
Riesling and Pinot Gris are the dominate varieties of the Vandal Militia Field Blend. Rounded and a bit spicy, showing nuts and honey and a grainy edge, as well as almond and tangerine. Concentrated with nice depth, this is all about texture, with a slight bitter twist on the finish. Utterly compelling.
One sunny day, whilst having a couple of beerzies, three Marlborough based winemakers decided to collaborate and make wines together under a single brand… Vandal
This "side project" gives each member scope to make wines they would not normally have the opportunity to put to bottle. They could be considered a bit weird in a more conventional sense, that said, the core of the Vandal ethos is ensuring wines are smashable so don't freak out just yet.

Reviews for the 2018 vintage…
92/100 Jamie Goode, August 2019 (2018 Vintage)
"Viognier, Riesling, Pinot Gris with smaller contributions from Pinot Noir, Syrah, Tempranillo and Chardonnay. 40% of the blend is skin contact Viognier and Riesling (overnight in the press). There’s a touch of botrytis too. Lovely aromatic apricot, pear and peach nose. The palate has a bit of sweetness (6 g/l residual sugar) and it’s fresh, fine, textured and quite delicious. Spicy and rich."
