Winery notes (2018 Vintage)
"This incredibly fragrant and elegant wine is from our cooler site in Bannockburn in a warmer growing season resulting in a highly energetic wine with great flow and incredible layers of red and black fruit, baking spice and earth. The aromas are both intriguing and complex: fresh berry, lilac, baking spice and wild thyme. The palate is long and bright with cherry, raspberry, beautiful florals and cardamom. Silky fine tannins compliment the vibrant acidity, giving the wine length and memory. This wine is drinking beautifully at release and will continue to do so for at least a decade."
5 Stars & 97/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, February 2020 (2018 Vintage)
"Combining richness with refinement, this stunning pinot shows dark berry characters on the nose with nuances of anise, toasted nut and floral. It’s wonderfully concentrated and weighty on the palate, delivering terrific fruit intensity with stylish oak infusion, beautifully framed by silky tannins. A complete package offering upfront appeal as well as potential to evolve graciously. At its best: 2022 to 2030."
95/100 Cameron Douglas MS, January 2020 (2018 Vintage)
"Immediately engaging bouquet with aromas of fresh and preserved berry fruits, wild thyme then oak. As the wine opens up the aromas and flavours develop releasing layers of minerality and wood spices, fruit and pinosity. The structure shows off a dry, layered, spicy, fruity and youthful wine loaded with texture, flavour and pinosity. A really good wine, enjoyable, tasty, varietal, fresh and lengthy. Fine tannins with a chalky edge, nice acid line and lengthy finish with a developing complexity. Drinkable today, will benefit from time in your cellar. Best from 2021 through 2026+."
94/100 Bob Campbell MW, The Real Review (2018 Vintage)
"Fragrant, appealing aroma with quite a floral and violet emphasis, while the palate was more savoury with crushed herb and grape stems adding extra interest to cherry and berry flavours. An ethereal wine with a backbone of fine tannins – should age well."
4 ½ Stars Michael Cooper (2018 Vintage)
"The powerful 2018 vintage is a very savoury, firmly structured red, hand-harvested, matured for 11 months in French oak casks (30 per cent new), and bottled unfined and unfiltered. Deep ruby, it is full-bodied, with strong, well-ripened cherry, plum, spice and nut flavours, fresh acidity and a tight finish. Best drinking 2022+."
93/100 Nick Stock, JamesSuckling.com, October 2019 (2018 Vintage)
"The rich and fleshy red plums here are irresistible, as are the aromas of ripe red cherries and raspberries with a perfumed, grassy and spicy edge. This has such appealing and succulent style that it will be really hard not to drink now."
