We have consistently stocked this label for over 20 years and it has continually offered one of the best drinking values out of Italy, whether it be for a classic pizza or that friendly 'anytime' glass of wine. And amazingly, it is the same price now as it was 20 years ago.
"Montepulciano is a tremendous grape, full of plummy depth, but since it is mostly grown in some of Italy's more rustic wine areas, too often the flavours are rustic too. But this one captures all the dark plum core of flavour but balances it with nice bright acid which allows the fruit to be juicy and mouth-watering even as the wine itself is pretty solid."
5 Stars & 93/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, September 2019 (2017 Vintage)
"The wine is sweetly fruited and immediately appealing on the nose showing Black Doris plum, sweet raspberry, floral and hazelnut characters with a touch of spicy complexity. It is ripe and beautifully rounded on the palate with vibrant fruit flavours backed by silky tannins, finishing delightfully long and soothing. At its best: now to 2021."
