“Refined and wonderfully textured with all the delicious sauvignon flavours”

As with most Marlborough wineries, Sauvignon Blanc is the mainstay of Two Rivers. The Convergence is the premium juice Two Rivers use (there are a number of other labels, mainly exported). This vintage the fruit is mainly from the Awatere, giving the wine more blackcurrant leaf, fresh herb flavours with a briny/saltiness. Light and fresh and just starting to open out in the bottle. The wine has good flavour depth. Another classy effort.

5 Stars & 95/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit (2017 Vintage)
"Powerful yet elegant, this stylish sauvignon shows gorgeous aromas of passionfruit, feijoa, green rockmelon and kaffir lime on the nose, leading to an intensely flavoured palate that is concentrated and vibrant. The wine is refined and wonderfully textured with all the delicious sauvignon flavours. At its best: now to 2020."

94/100 Bab Campbell MW, The Real Review, May 2018 (2017 Vintage)
"Rich, weighty and quite textural sauvignon blanc that combines the fresh herb, tomato leaf and mineral characters of Awatere fruit with a slightly riper tree and tropical fruit flavours of Wairau Valley grapes. The net effect is appealing. A wine of intensity and character."

4 Stars Michael Cooper (2017 Vintage)
"The 2017 vintage is from sites in the Awatere, Southern and Wairau valleys. Matured for three months on its yeast lees, it is mouthfilling and crisp, with citrusy, limey flavours, showing excellent freshness and delicacy, lively acidity, and a dry (3.4 grams/litre of residual sugar), lingering finish."

4 Stars & 18.0+/20 Raymond Chan, November 2017 (2017 Vintage)
"Bright, very pale straw colour with slight green hues, near colourless on the rim. The nose is elegant in proportion with fine depth and intensity of tightly bound aromas of passionfruit, white florals, nuances of fresh herbs and cut grass, unfolding subtle notes of fermentation esters and mineral elements. This has delicacy of expression. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate is elegant in expression with tightly bound flavours of passionfruit, white florals, green stonefruits, along with nuances of herbs and cut grass. The flavours are stylish and balanced by fresh, lacy acidity, and the wine carries smoothly with good energy along a refined line, leading to a soft, sustained finish of passionfruit, herbs and minerals. This is an elegant, tightly-bound Sauvignon Blanc with passionfruit, florals, herbs and cut grass flavours on a refined palate. It will blossom over the next 2 years. Serve with Pacific Rim fare. Fruit from the ‘Richmond Brook, ‘ Starborough Farms’, ‘Dew’ and ‘Hagen’ vineyards, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. and 3.4 g/L RS, the wine aged 3 months on lees. 9,000 cases made."
