Winery notes (2020 Vintage)
"Gnarly Dudes is made with fruit sourced from mature vineyards from the Barossa’s western ranges. Aromas of black cherry, fresh blackberry, fresh lavender, pastry crust, and dark chocolate. Hits the palate with vibrancy and pop. Bright berry notes dance across the palate. Medium to full bodied with richness of fruit balanced by bright refreshing acidity. Tannins are prominent but melt beautifully into a wall of fruit. Finished with a lovely long palate, accented by notes of red licorice, lavender, and dark chocolate with a creamy texture from lees contact."

93/100 Gary Walsh, The Wine Front, March 2021 (2019 Vintage)
"Blackberry, liquorice and dried mint, a bit of the old earth and spice. Dark fruit flavour, good balance and especially, a solid sort of sessionability here for a Barossa Shiraz, some char and chew to tannin, and a long but slightly gummy finish. Nice one."
95/100 James Halliday's Wine Companion (2018 Vintage)
"Everything is right with this wine. The colour is full but clear, the bouquet composed and welcoming, the medium-bodied palate continuing the theme, dark berry fruits doing all the lifting (this is only medium-bodied, in any event), the mouthfeel juicy, the tannins fine-spun, the length exemplary."
