"Darkish ruby-red colour with slight purple hues. The nose has a core of ripe, dark-red berry and cherry fruit with some lovely florals. Medium-full bodied, the palate is rich and vibrant with sweet and spicy flavours of dark-red berry fruits that fill the mouth."
5 Stars & 94/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, July 2018 (2016 Vintage)
"Complex, fragrant and seductive, the bouquet shows spiced cherry, dark plum, game, thyme and toasted almond characters with nuances of dark mushroom and floral. The palate is wonderfully weighted and silky, delivering gorgeous fruit intensity backed by supple mouthfeel and fine tannins. It is beautifully composed and expressed with fabulous savoury undertones. At its best: now to 2022. Certified organic."
5 Stars & 19.0-/20 (95) Raymond Chan, July 2018 (2016 Vintage)
"Darkish ruby-red colour with slight purple hues, lighter on the rim. The nose is soft and initially a little restrained in expression, but growing to show good depth and presence with a core of ripe, dark-red berry and cherry fruit with some raspberry liqueur notes, dark herbs and dark-red florals unfolding a hint of minerals. Medium-full bodied, the palate is rich and vibrant with sweet and spicy flavours of dark-red berry fruits that fill the mouth. The fruit has notes of dark-red plums and liquorice, entwined with florals and mineral elements, forming a deep, well-packed, ripe, rounded heart. The tannin are ripe and the structure balances the fruit sweetness with its extraction and grip. The wine flows positively to a fulsome, sweetly rich, lingering finish. This is a sweetly rich and ripe Pinot Noir with flavours of dark raspberries, with notes of liquorice, plums and dark herbs on a well-balanced and structured palate. Match with lamb, beef and venison over the next 6-7+ years. Hand-picked fruit, clones 5, 777, 667, 115, Abel and 10/5, fully destemmed and indigenous yeast fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 12 months in 25% new French oak. Certified BioGro organic."
4 ½ Stars Michael Cooper (2016 Vintage)
"A consistently attractive red. Certified organic, the 2016 vintage was hand-picked, fermented with indigenous yeasts and matured for 11 months in French oak casks (25 per cent new). Bright ruby, it is fragrant, full-bodied and sweet-fruited, with generous cherry, plum and spice flavours, showing good complexity and harmony. Best drinking 2020+."
