This wine is absolutely delicious. The Chapman family's organic vineyard on the Glasnevin gravels of Waipara has had some serious recognition recently and were awarded the Organic Vineyard of the Year in 2018. This sweeter Riesling has become a bit of a signature wine for them and the new 2018 is another star. A superb summer wine – Chill it down well and enjoy as an aperitif.

"It is gorgeously fragrant on the nose showing lemon curd, Gala apple, rockmelon and floral characters with subtle spicy complexity. The palate is succulent and plush, delivering elegant sweetness and refreshing acidity, leading to a fabulously long, delicious finish. Wonderfully composed and styled. Style: Medium-dry. At its best: now to 2024."

"Bright, light straw-yellow colour with green hues and a little depth, paler edged. The nose is elegant, refined and poised, a little tight and slender in expression initially, but unveiling lime and tangerine aromas with a subtle array of exotic florals, some honeysuckle and musk. The botrytis is subtle and sits at the aromatic heart. Medium-sweet to taste and medium-bodied, the palate is elegant and has a softly packed core with rich flavours of ripe citrus fruits melded with honeysuckle, exotic florals and some botrytis muskiness which adds to the richness endowing some opulence. The fruit is gentle, but builds in richness, concentration and mouthfeel, and is balanced by fine acid cut. The wine flows along a smooth line, leading to a sustained finish. Serve as an aperitif, and with mildly spicy Asian and Middle Eastern cuisine over the next 4 years. Hand-picked Riesling fruit with approx. 10% botrytis, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 12.5% alc. and 34 g/L RS. Certified BioGro organic."

"As a medium style of Riesling for drinking young, the 2018 vintage is hard to beat, especially at the price. Hand-picked at Waipara, it is bright, light yellow/green, with a slightly honeyed fragrance. Medium-bodied, it has concentrated, ripe, peachy, gently spicy flavours, gentle sweetness (34 grams/litre of residual sugar), finely balanced acidity, and a rich, long finish. A top buy. Certified organic."
