Winery notes (2017 Vintage)
"A truly exciting wine. Handpicked from the same blocks that produce our rare single block wines (Slapjack Block, Jackson's Block, Shingle Beach) as well from a few other select vines on the estate, this is the truest expression of the soul of the vineyard. The fragrance is direct from the lavender and thyme that ribbon the vineyard. The flavours are luxurious dark cherries, fresh raspberries, and first picked plums, the finish long and silky."
4 ½ Stars Michael Cooper (2017 Vintage)
"The lively, very youthful 2017 vintage was estate-grown at Bannockburn and matured in French oak barriques (10 per cent new). Deep ruby, with a slightly earthy bouquet, it is fresh and concentrated, with strong, vibrant cherry, plum and spice flavours, good power through the palate and a well-structured finish. Best drinking 2021+."
5 Stars & 94/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, January 2020 (2017 Vintage)
"Delightfully fruited and charming, the inviting bouquet shows dark cherry, thyme, mixed spice and roasted nut characters with a hint of savoury mushroom. The palate delivers juicy fruit flavours and silky texture, gorgeously supported by flowing mouthfeel and supple tannins, finishing long and immensely appealing. At its best: now to 2025."

92/100 Mike Bennie, The Wine Front, September 2018 (2016 Vintage)
"Dark cherry, thyme, faint fennel notes, sweet spice. Nice start to the wine. Slippery texture yields to light chew of tannins, and finishes with dusty cherry characters and briary, savoury notes. It’s a bit thin and shrill in feel all up, but the more reserved feel might appeal to some."
