Winery notes (2014 Vintage)
"This Pinot Noir exhibits a gorgeous perfumed fragrance of ripe raspberry, and florals with hints of mocha, violets, spice and some complex savoury undertones. The finely textured, silky tannins combine with vibrant flavours of ripe strawberries and omega plums. The palate carries onto more savoury and complex flavours and finishes with a lingering persistence of fruit, fine tannin and well integrated oak. Bottled un-fined and with minimal filtration"
5 Stars & 96/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, December 2018 (2014 Vintage)
"The wine shows a great degree of elegance as well as complexity and intensity; the seductively expressed bouquet shows spiced cherry, dark plum, game, dried herb, olive and almond characters, leading to a concentrated palate that is refined and sophisticated, offering sensual, flowing mouthfeel. Precise and multi-layered at the same time, the wine delivers hedonistic fragrance and a persistent engaging finish. At its best: now to 2024."
96/100 Cameron Douglas MS, December 2018 (2014 Vintage)
"Complex, youthful, engaging and beguiling bouquet. Aromas of dark raspberry and truffle, plum and old rose, brown baking spices, a whisper of fresh tobacco and wood smoke. Complex and dry on the palate with flavours that mirror the nose, a savoury mineral layer adds additional texture alongside firm youthful tannins and medium+ acidity. A wine still in early development stages – so be patient. Best drinking from 2020 (ish) through 2030+."

"A sense of depth of fruit with astute winemaking here. Deeply ripe red and black cherries sit amid violets and fresh, lightly earthy notes. The palate has bright, lithe and juicy red cherries with some forest-floor, woody and leafy notes. Fine but sturdy tannins and a subtly spicy finish. Super length. Drink or hold."

"This is a selection of barrels from this site: what expresses the site best. Just 100 cases or so, released later. Blend of all eight clones. Berry sorted so it can be left on skins for longer. This is really beautiful. It’s perfumed and really pure with very fine red cherry fruit, but also definite structure and seriousness in the mouth. The fruit is silky and fine with subtle sappy notes. Tension and balance here with purity and precision."
5 Stars & 18.5+/20 (94) Raymond Chan, December 2018 (2014 Vintage)
"Even, dark-hued garnet-red colour, a little lighter on the rim. The nose is soft and fragrant with ethereal aromas of soft-red cherry fruit with nuances of black-berried fruits at the core, unfolding an array of dark-red florals with a subtle complexing amalgam of dark and dried herbs. The aromatics are harmoniously presented. Medium-full bodied, the palate is elegantly proportioned with sweetly rich flavours of soft red berry fruits and nuances of black fruits, with dark and dried herbs and an array of red florals. The fruit is luscious and enlivened by fine, lacy acidity and supported by a very finely extracted and structured line that carries the wine to a lingering, ethereal finish. This is a very elegant, but lusciously rich red cherry and dark-berried Pinot Noir with ethereal florals on a fine-structured palate with fresh, lacy acidity. Match with poultry and pork dishes over the next 5+ years. The second release of a Pinot Noir under the ‘SV 5182’ designation. A blend of 8 clones, 113, 114, 115, 667, 777, 10/5, Abel and 5 from the TWR ‘’Home’ block, the fruit hand-picked and hand-sorted, destemmed and fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine spending 10-14 days on skins post-ferment and aged 11 months in 30% new French oak. 129 cases made. Certified BioGro organic."
