Winery notes (2021 Vintage)
"Made in extremely small quantities, the Land Series wines seek to highlight the very best from each of the unique subregions within our family of vineyards. This Bannockburn Pinot Noir is a blend of the very best parcels from Jerome and Eliza.
A complex and aromatically intriguing Pinot Noir with bright red cherry, dried herb and floral character. Flavours of ripe berry fruits and red cherry, vanilla, spice and cola follow through on the palate, leading into savoury dried herb and tobacco. A powerful but poised expression of Pinot Noir with elegance and finesse.
The wines made from the Jerome vineyard are defined by the devigourating influence of it’s sandy soils. Small, intensely flavoured bunches ripen evenly on the North facing slopes, while the fine mineral acidity lends structure and finesse. Eliza offers generosity and plush fruit characters derived from deep alluvial silts and clay.
Hand harvested and fermented with vineyard yeast in two separate batches, one with 100% and the other with 30% whole clusters. This whole bunch character defines the wine, with distinctive bright floral notes and sweet supple fruit. Aged 11 months in French oak barriques prior to individual barrel selection and blending."

5 Stars Michael Cooper (2020 Vintage)
"The youthful, finely structured 2020 vintage was estate-grown at two Bannockburn sites, hand-picked and matured for 11 months in French oak barriques. Only 600 bottles were made. Bright ruby, it is very fresh and vibrant, with substantial body and strong cherry, plum, spice and nut flavours, complex, savoury and lingering. It needs time; best drinking 2024+."
