Winery notes (2016 Vintage)
"Our 2016 Pinot Noir is richly coloured and delightfully fragrant. Vibrant bramble, wild berry and spice with hints of earthiness fill the nose. The palate is full and velvety with a long finish."

5 Stars & 93/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, August 2017 (2016 Vintage)
"The wine offers fabulous fruit purity together with stylish spicy/savoury nuances, displaying red/black cherry, plum, floral, mixed spice and smoked game characters on the nose. The palate is concentrated and focused with juicy fruit intensity and fine texture, perfectly structured by fine, grainy tannins. Lovely poised and style. At its best; now to 2021."

5 Stars & 18.5+/20 Raymond Chan, August 2017 (2016 Vintage)
"Dark ruby-red colour with some depth and light purple hues on the rim. This has an elegantly concentrated nose with fine and firmly aromas of dark-red berry and black cherry fruit, along with subtle notes of black plums and savoury herbs, unfolding lifted violet florals and a little spice. Medium-full bodied, the palate has rich and vibrantly sweet, lively fruit flavours of dark-red berry and cherry fruit with an amalgam of red and violet florals, with subtle herb note. The palate is very finely concentrated with good linearity, and the fruit is supported by fine-grained, supple tannins and fresh, lacy acidity. The wine has a velvety flow with good energy and tension, leading to an elegant, lingering finish with a little spiciness. This is a vibrant, lively, dark-red berry and cherry-fruited Pinot Noir with a finely concentrated palate, supple tannins and structure. Seve with poultry, pork, beef and venison over the next 5-6 years. A blend of 9 clones, the fruit from the ‘Home’, ‘McLeod’s’, ‘Fraters’, ‘Spring Rock’ and ‘Rua’ vineyards, vines 13-27 y.o., fully destemmed and fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 10 months in 20% new French oak."

90/100 Bob Campbell MW, November 2017 (2016 Vintage)
"Bright, fresh, medium-bodied pinot noir with cherry, plum and slightly smoky oak. Very precise and attractive wine from a terrific Martinborough vintage. Fruit-focused flavours are supported by fine tannins that help promote a drying finish. Drink 2017 to 2021."

Sue Courtney, (2016 Vintage)
"Bright ruby with pinky edges. The bouquet is sweet-fruited, inviting, with spiced cherries and a hint of cedar and the firm, dry taste is foremost savoury and gamey than fruity – but the fruit is of course there – bittersweet fruit – wild strawberries, morello cherries – and its silky in its flow with mouthfilling richness to the finish."
