"Fantastic bouquet of Syrah with a core of fruit, toasty wood spices and complexity. Beguiling. The palate reveals flavours of fresh and baked raspberry, black currant and mangosteen berries. There’s a natural spice layer, smoky barrel spices and a touch of tobacco, youthful core of energy and complexities from bottle age and excellent winemaking. A lovely example, balanced and well made with drinking upon purchase and through 2030+."

"Deep, ruby-red with depth, lighter red on the rim. The nose is softly full and beautifully structured, aromas of blackberries, baked plums interweave dried herbs and a hint of violet, underlying cedar and smoky tobacco. Full-bodied, aromas of blackberries and baked plums have a savoury edge, entwined with smoke, cedar and barrel spices; subtle dried herbs and stony mineral linger to a sustained, bright finish. The palate possesses a stony mineral line enriched by velvety, fine-grained tannin. This fruit is integrated with barrel age and development, support by lively acidity. This is a complex Syrah with graceful development and a mineral edge. Match with lamb koftas and beef stew over the next 8+ years. 100% Syrah sourced from Gimblett Gravels, handpicked, fermented in small open-top vats to 13.8% alc, basket pressed and aged in French oak barrels for 18 months approx, 33% new oak."
