It's no secret that Spy Valley produce an outstanding Sauvignon Blanc every year and the 2018 is again a mighty effort. With excellent fruit weight and concentration and a brilliantly bright succulence it delivers plenty of tropical fruit plumpness freshened up with crisp citrus and zesty currant flavours.
Winery notes (2018 Vintage)
"Aromas of grapefruit, lime zest, with sweet underlying passionfruit pulp. Dry with vibrant acid tension, classic Marlborough interplay of tropical fruits, citrus, zesty currant and guava flavours."
4 Stars Michael Cooper (2018 Vintage)
"Typically a very good buy. The 2018 vintage, grown in the Wairau and Waihopai valleys, was partly barrel-fermented and made in a dry style (1.3 grams/litre of residual sugar). Light lemon/green, it is vibrantly fruity and tangy, with passionfruit, lime and green-capsicum flavours, showing a touch of complexity, good intensity, and a crisp, racy finish."
91/100 James Suckling (2018 Vintage)
"Gently waxy with some chamomile flowers and green mangoes, leading to a palate that carries passion-fruit, mango and ripe peach flavor long and fresh."

Top 10, 5 Stars & Best Buy Cuisine Sauvignon Blanc Tasting, December 2017 (2017 Vintage)
"Paul Bourgeois and his team at Spy Valley have produced a racy, up-tempo style. It leans towards the lively, green end of the flavour spectrum, with jalapeño and chive notes prominent. There is plenty of flinty texture and drive to this wine. It’s a style that would work fabulously alongside a crayfish bisque."
IWC 2018 (2017 Vintage)
"Citrus and mineral on the nose. Pithy red grapefruit and elderflower. Subtle and restrained style."
89/100 Mike Bennie, The Wine Front, June 2018 (2017 Vintage)
"Herbal leading perfume with notes of passionfruit and light tropical fruits, squeeze of citrus and some grassiness. Juicy with good concentration of pure fruit flavour, crisp acidity and some faint yeasty notes. A touch of complexity but all the freshness there."
