It's no secret that Spy Valley Sauvignon Blanc is a great drop every year. The 2017 is no exception, top value once again. If you're into the real passionfruity style of Sauvignon then this has your name written all over it. Soft, full, lush and, you guessed it, passionfruity!

Winery notes (2017 Vintage)
"Aromas of grapefruit, mango, passionfruit and melon. The texture is smooth and inviting with classic Marlborough flavours including ripe bell pepper and tropical fruit. Crisp acidity rounds off an elegant structure."

Top 10, 5 Stars & Best Buy Cuisine Sauvignon Blanc Tasting, December 2017 (2017 Vintage)
"Paul Bourgeois and his team at Spy Valley have produced a racy, up-tempo style. It leans towards the lively, green end of the flavour spectrum, with jalapeño and chive notes prominent. There is plenty of flinty texture and drive to this wine. It’s a style that would work fabulously alongside a crayfish bisque."

4 Stars & 18.0/20 Raymond Chan, October 2017 (2017 Vintage)
"Bright, very pale straw colour, near colourless on the rim. The nose is softly full and voluminous with aromas of passionfruit and gooseberries, white florals, fresh herbs and a fine line of minerals. The aromatics have elegance, depth and intensity. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate has soft, mouthfilling flavours of passionfruit with subtle notes of gooseberries, fresh herbs and snow peas. The fruit is refreshing with mineral nuances. The mouthfeel is well-balanced with gentle richness and liveliness. The wine flows easily and smoothly to a soft, elegant, lingering finish of passionfruit and herbs. This is a soft and gently mouthfilling Sauvignon Blanc with passionfruit and gooseberry flavours with balanced acidity and fruit richness. Serve with Pacific Rim fare over the next 2 years. MS clone fruit from the Waihopi and Wairau valleys, fermented in stainless-steel with 6% in oak barrels to 12.0% alc. and 2.8 g/L RS."

Michael Cooper (2017 Vintage)
"Typically a very good buy. The 2017 vintage was partly barrel-fermented and made in a dry style (2.8 grams/litre of residual sugar). Fresh and crisp, it is medium-bodied, with grapefruit, lime and green-apple flavours, showing good depth, and a tangy finish."

IWC 2018 (2017 Vintage)
"Citrus and mineral on the nose. Pithy red grapefruit and elderflower. Subtle and restrained style."
