Winery notes (2014 Vintage)
"Aromas of lime rind, lemon and grapefruit, with hints of lemon flower. The briefest sensation of sweetness on the entry with a firm, pithy finish. The dry, thirst quenching impression lingers and bodes well for cellaring.
Grapes were hand selected and harvested from our original plantings of Riesling. After whole bunch pressing, the free-run juice was fermented in oak, and aged on light lees for eight months before bottling."

5 Stars & 96/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, July 2019 (2012 Vintage)
"A magnificent riesling; the instantly appealing bouquet shows lemon curd, baked apple, orange zest and subtle spice aromas, followed by a succulent palate that is intensely flavoured and brilliantly focused. The wine exhibits power and richness, while remaining refined and elegant, superbly enhanced by attractive sweetness and wonderfully balanced acidity. Style: Medium-sweet. At its best: now to 2022."
5 Stars Michael Cooper (2012 Vintage)
"Estate-grown in the lower Waihopai Valley, the 2012 vintage, released in 2018, was hand-picked, with no botrytis influence, and barrel-fermented. Bright, light lemon/green, it is highly scented. Light and lovely, it is low in alcohol (9 per cent), with searching, citrusy, limey flavours, sweet (65 grams/litre of residual sugar) and tangy, poised and persistent. Acquiring excellent bottle-aged complexity, with a strong sense of depth, delicacy and drive, it should be long-lived; drink now or cellar."
