Winery notes (2017 Vintage)
"Exceptional micro-site wines from our oldest family vines. Envoy wines are textural and complex, and honour the best winemaking tool of all – time.
Aromas of fig and ripe peaches overlaid with dried grass, walnuts and almond. The palate is nutty, creamy and elegant. The fruit profile is restrained and the structure tightly bound with a fine, crisp finish."

5 Stars & 95/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, January 2021 (2016 Vintage)
"Beautifully styled and wonderfully complex, showing golden peach, cedar, brioche and lemon peel aromas on the nose, leading to a concentrated palate displaying excellent richness together with refined texture and bright acidity. It’s generous and flavoursome while remaining firmly structured, finishing persistent and engaging. At its best: now to 2026."
4 ½ Stars Michael Cooper (2015 Vintage)
"This elegant, tightly structured wine is estate-grown in the Waihopai Valley, hand-harvested, fermented with indigenous yeasts and lees-aged in French oak barriques (mostly seasoned) for up to 20 months. Currently on sale, the 2015 vintage is bright, light yellow/green, with vigorous, citrusy, peachy, slightly toasty flavours, showing very good intensity. Still youthful, it should be at its best 2022+."
