Winery notes (2016 Vintage)
"Award winning winemaker David Clouston has created the utterly seductive Havana Pinot Noir. Reflective of a City with infectious energy this Marlborough wine serves up a core of spicy black cherry & sweet dark chocolate. Served with a hit of well integrated oak, smooth & velvety tannins create earthy authenticity. With its long & alluring finish this wine should be wrapped in tobacco leaf. Viva la SOHO Revolución.

A highly fragrant style of Pinot Noir with juniper & clove spiciness & notes of kirsch cherry. The generosity of fruit & chalky tannins gives the palate a lovely tension & a long, lively finish. The pedigree of this wine is second to none."

5 Stars & 93/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, November 2017 (2016 Vintage)
"It is sweetly fragrant on the nose showing dark cherry, plum, warm spice, toasted almond and game characters with nuances of dried herb and truffle. The palate delivers excellent fruit concentration and purity, wonderfully enhanced by fleshy mouthfeel and velvety texture. The wine offers roundness and beautiful flow, and finishes impressively long and silky. At its best: now to 2021."

4 Stars & 18.0+/20 Raymond Chan, February 2018 (2016 Vintage)
"Moderately dark ruby-red colour with some depth, lighter on the edge. The nose is softly full with fragrant dark-red berry and cherry aromas that form an elegantly concentrated and tight core. The fruit is complexed by a harmonious layering with interwoven notes of fresh and dark herbs, liquorice, subtle spice notes, nutty oak and a hint of minerals. Medium-bodied, the palate has finely concentrated flavours of dark-red berry and cherry fruit with delicate notes of herbs and complexing minerally, reductive suggestions. The fruit is sweetly rich and enlivened by fresh, lacy acidity, and underlined by moderate, fine-grained tannin extraction. The palate is balanced and flows with good vitality and tension, unfolding red florals as it leads to a lingering finish. This is a finely presented Pinot Noir with dark-red cherry and berry fruit with herb and mineral notes on a fresh palate. Match with antipasto, poultry and pork dishes over the next 4 years. Hand-picked fruit from the company’s ‘Yarrum’ vineyard in the Southern Valleys, fermented to 13.0% alc., the wine aged 11 months in 25% new French oak. Certified BioGro organic."
