Winery notes (2019 Vintage)
"The warm slopes of our Raupo vineyard in the Omaka Valley are home to some of our most important Chardonnay vineyards, where the vines respond well to the combination of cool clay soils and the exposure to the sun.
Organic fruit was hand-picked, whole bunch pressed and naturally fermented with wild yeast. 50% was fermented and aged in French oak barrels and puncheons for 10 months, 5% new. A philosophy of early picking has created a wine of elegance, texture, and depth."
90/100 Rebecca Gibb MW, Vinous (2019 Vintage)
"A relatively full-bodied, creamy Chardonnay that remains vital and vigorous. While fermentation occurred in older oak (5% new), the barrels' contribution is more structural than aromatic, providing rounded edges to this firm style. The malolactic-derived creamy flavour lingers on the medium-length finish."

89/100 Cameron Douglas MS, April 2020 (2018 Vintage)
"Familiar aromas of peaches and nectarine, vanilla and sweet creamy nutty oak. On the palate – a dry wine with medium acidity, balanced alcohol, nicely weighted too with flavours of yellow orchard fruits, citrus, apple, a touch of cashew nut and other wood flavours. Balanced and well made, ready to enjoy from today and through 2022."
