Gold Medal & 95/100 – New World Wine Awards 2019
Winery notes (2016 Vintage)
"The palate displays distinctive McLaren vale Shiraz regional characters. The generosity of bright red fruits across the palate including blackberry, blueberry, violets intertwined with spicy fine grained tannins. This French and American oak integrates harmoniously with the dark berry fruits, providing a full flavoured wine with layers of texture and flavour. A generous Shiraz that we believe over delivers on mouthfeel flavour and length."
90/100 Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front, October 2018 (2016 Vintage)
"The tannin is choppy but the seas are by no means big; in general this well-fruited red comes across as pretty smooth. Tar, plum, choc-berry and sweet spice notes flow amiably through the palate. There is both some warmth and some subtle signs of development; in all it works pretty well."
4 Stars Cuisine Australian Shiraz Tasting, June 2019 (2015 Vintage)
"Wonderfully crafted with a seamless transition from bouquet to palate. A very structured wine with an overlay of ripe dark sweet berry fruits, plum and mocha supported by spicy coconut oak and a soft and long finish."

5 Stars & 95/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, July 2017 (2015 Vintage)
"This is a hugely appealing shiraz; the gloriously rich bouquet shows black/blueberry, cocoa, floral and toasted hazelnut characters, leading to a sumptuous palate that is concentrated and superbly fruited. The wine offers opulence and power, wonderfully complemented by velvety texture and silky tannins. At its best: now to 2025."
5 Stars & 18.5+/20 Raymond Chan, July 2017 (2015 Vintage)
"Full, near-impenetrable black-red colour with a lighter edge and slight purple hues. The nose is fine and firmly concentrated with intensely packed aromas of ripe blackberries, black pepper, ink and spices with subtle earthy and fragrant ok notes. Medium-full bodied, the palate is well-concentrated with ripe flavours of blackberries, black pepper, plum and spice notes with liquorice, earth and ok detail. The fruit is supported by fine, grainy tannin structure, balancing the richness. The wine is carried by the texture and grip to a long, lingering finish of sweet black fruits, pepper and earth. This is a well-concentrated, ripe, black-fruited Shiraz with complexing pepper, spice and earthy interest on a well-structured palate. Match with slow-cooked game meats over the next 7-9+ years. McLaren Vale fruit from the company’s vineyards on Binney and Malpas Roads, fermented to 14.0% alc., the wine aged 12 months in 25% new French and American oak hogsheads.
94/100 Huon Hooke, The Real Review, May 2017 (2015 Vintage)
"Deep, youthful purple/red colour and a rich, chocolate-infused bouquet. The wine is full-bodied and fleshy, deep and dense, with full-bodied warm-climate style, and an abundance of tannin. Very rich, deep, luxurious wine, almost hedonistic. It will cellar long term."
