SECRET SOURCE OLD VINE CHARDONNAY 2020

Without doubt, the Best Chardonnay Deal we have had!

When we tasted the first sample of this wine we all went 'Wow – this is Bloody Good!' The reason it is so good was quite obvious when we were told the origins of the wine but we are sworn to secrecy hence 'Secret Source'. Just know that this is a deliciously enjoyable Chardonnay that is costing you a lot less than it should.

Winemakers will always tell you that wine is all about provenance. This is from the superb 2020 Hawkes Bay vintage and from one of the most revered sites in the region. The old Mendoza clone vines were previously the source of one of New Zealand's top chardonnays. A change of circumstances in 2020 meant the juice went elsewhere and the result is this, our own "Secret Source" label.

"This is stylish and delicious at once, showing ripe apricots, rockmelon, nougat, oatmeal and roasted hazelnut aromas on the nose. The powerfully concentrated palate exhibits poise as well as richness, wonderfully enhanced by plush texture and multi-layered mouthfeel. It's splendidly structured by bright acidity, finishing persistent and expansive. At its best: now to 2030."
