Winery notes (2021 Vintage)
"Aromas of mineral, quince, greengage and angelica flavours. A medium-bodied wine with a focused and bright acidity. Mineral, floral and stone fruit flavours persist on the long, clean finish.
Great care was taken in the vineyard to ensure an even ripeness of the bunches. The grapes were select hand-picked and whole cluster pressed to minimise phenolics. The juice was transferred to old oak puncheons where it underwent spontaneous fermentation with a wild yeast strain from the vineyard. The wine was aged in these barrels for 7 months, before a further 3 months in stainless steel. Residual Sugar: 7.8 g/L"
5 Stars & 94/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, February 2023 (2021 Vintage)
"Brightly fruited and elegantly fragrant with apricot, Gala apple, lemon zest and white floral notes with a hint of flinty nuance, it's succulent and finely flowing in the mouth delivering vibrant fruit flavours with racy acidity. Wonderfully structured and textured with a persistent crisp finish. Grapes were 100% hand picked and wild fermented in old oak puncheons. At its best: now to 2029."
5 Stars & 18.5-/20 (92) Candice Chow, Raymond Chan Reviews, February 2023 (2021 Vintage)
"Bright, even, pale yellow. The nose is gentle and savoury, enveloping citrus, stonefruit, minerals, spice and fresh-cut wool. Medium-bodied, dry to taste, with aromas of apricot and lemon at core, layering chalky minerals, a hint of lanolin and ginger. This spice emphasises the flavour and lengthens to a crisp, long finish. The chalky minerals lightly coasted the palate and left an almost unctuous mouthfeel. This dry Chenin Blanc shows layers and texture with a complex range of flavours. Match with crab linguine and pork meatloaf over the next 3-5 years. Handpicked whole bunch pressed, spontaneous fermentation in old oak puncheons with a wild yeast strain from the vineyard. 13% alc, 7.8 g/l RS. Aged 7 months in barrels and a further 3 months in stainless steel."
