92/100 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (2015 Vintage)
"A blend of 62% Shiraz and 38% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2015 Rod and Spur Shiraz-Cabernet Sauvignon spent two years in barrel before being blended and bottled. Plum, cassis and mint come together on the nose and palate of this medium to full-bodied wine. It's creamy across the mid-palate, ripe and supple, ending with softly dusty notes on the lingering finish. An excellent example of the quintessential Australian blend."
93/100 Gary Walsh, The Wine Front, October 2018 (2015 Vintage)
"Comforting style of wine, and easy to ease into. Plum, aniseed, chocolate, cedar and old leather. Medium-bodied, gentle feel to it, with a mix of subtle toasty oak, fine powdery tannin, dark chocolate and exotic spices, tobacco and red fruits bobbing up on a clean and pretty long finish. The charm and confidence of a wine that knows its place in the world of wine. Lovely drinking."
92+/100 Mike Bennie, The Wine Front, October 2018 (2015 Vintage)
"Regal sort of wine, if you get the drift, showing that sense of Chesterfield lounges, cigar tobacco, dark chocolate, sweet plums. Safe to say the bouquet is of great appeal. The palate doesn’t quite deliver the same volume as scent, and tannins are light, more a sheath than tension and train tracks, but dark plummy fruit, cedary-clove oak and cool acidity power a just over medium weight red of medium weight charisma. It’s probably a little underpowered for Rockford stalwarts, but it’s a nice wine, safe to say, and cellaring is likely where it will come to the fore."
