Winery notes (2021 Vintage)
"This wine oozes ripeness, with expressive aromas of passionfruit, tropical fruit, blackcurrant and boxwood. The palate reflects the nose with intense fruit characters, balanced with a salty minerality and mouth-watering acidity. This wine is immediately expressive but will continue to drink well for the next three years.

Dillon’s Point is defined by the confluence of the Wairau and Opawa Rivers, near Marlborough’s coast. The sub-region has deep, young, mineral-rich alluvial silts, layered over sand, which our Sauvignon Blanc vines thrive on."

5 Stars & Number 1 Cuisine NZ Sauvignon Blanc Tasting, December 2021 (2021 Vintage)
"Though giving a lower yield than expected – the universal story of vintage 2021 – the warm, dry conditions resulted in what Rapaura Springs called ‘pristine’ fruit. Described by head judge Ben Glover as a superb example of sauvignon blanc, this wine has all the hallmarks of the varietal working in perfect balance. Aromas of snow peas, white blossoms, wild nettles, jalapeño and zesty lime citrus notes dance from the glass and through the nasal passages. It should be an assault on the olfactory senses, but nothing could be further from the truth with each scent playing its part like members of the symphony. On the palate there’s a counterbalance between sweet and sour characters against an energetic and vibrant background of juicy, tropical-fruit flavours. The impressive texture and lingering finish round out what is an altogether excellent and expressive wine."

5 Stars & 96/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, September 2021 (2021 Vintage)
"A stunning offering; the intensely expressed bouquet shows green rockmelon, feijoa, kaffir lime and sweet basil aromas, followed by a super-charged palate that's juicy and mouthfilling. Wonderfully balanced too, this is staggeringly impressive. At its best: now to 2030."

5 Stars & 95/100 Bob Campbell MW, The Real Review, September 2021 (2021 Vintage)
"The Rapaura Springs Rohe Dillons Point Sauvignon Blanc 2021 is a quite concentrated, weighty, fleshy sauvignon blanc with citrus, passionfruit and mango flavours with a saline character. A smooth-textured wine with a lingering finish."

5 Stars Michael Cooper (2021 Vintage)
"From the Dillons Point district of the lower Wairau Valley, the pale lemon/green 2021 vintage has a very fresh, aromatic bouquet. Intensely varietal, it is vibrantly fruity and tangy, with penetrating melon, capsicum and lime flavours, slightly salty notes, and excellent delicacy, vigour and length."

5 Stars Yvonne Lorkin, September 2021 (2021 Vintage)
"This bottle should carry a ‘Wear a Helmet’ warning because by jingoes, the second you unclick the cap and pour this wine into your glass, a passionfruit-pumped roundhouse kick of Kill Bill proportions will collide with your face. Big call, but I think this could be my sauvignon blanc of 2021. From the earliest and shortest harvest on Marlborough’s record, it’s outrageously delicious. ‘Rohe’ translates to ‘territory’ in Māori and Dillons Point is where the Wairau and Opawa Rivers converge, making the soils mack daddy mineral-rich (did I just say mack daddy?) Despite my tacky slip, this sauvignon blanc is complete class, showing incredibly stylish lime, lemon, fresh herbs and peachy perfection. Its bold, juicy, generous textures and incredible depth and vibrancy create great tension and tautness on the finish. It’s outstanding."

19/20 Joelle Thomson, August 2021 (2021 Vintage)
"Dry, full bodied, smooth and refreshing, this Sauvignon Blanc has a creamy mouthfeel enhanced by savoury lees flavours of oatmeal, almonds and fresh grainy sourdough. It is fully dry with 3.6 grams residual sugar and expresses notes of tropical fruit which are kept in delicious succulent balance by the refreshing crisp flavoursome bite of a Granny Smith apple and lime zest. This is an exceptional take on Sauvignon Blanc, made from grapes grown at the confluence of the Wairau and Opawa rivers in Marlborough."

5 Stars & 18.5+/20 (94) Candice Chow, Raymond Chan Reviews, August 2021 (2021 Vintage)
"Bright, pale yellow, even clour throughout. The nose is invigorating, softly full; aromas of lime, passionfruit and cassis lead the bouquet with a light dusting of white spice. Medium-light bodied, lime & its zest melded with passionfruit and white currants, white spice and herbs linger with a hint of stony minerals. The wine has a pure expression; mouthwatering acidity flows with good energy, along with mineral crunch and a smooth palate. White pepper enlivens the palate lends a crisp finish. Match with white wine steamed mussels and crab linguine over the next 3-4 years. Fermented in stainless steel to 13.5% alc, 3.6g/l RS."

  • 5 star review  Great range of wines. You will find some not so common grape varieties are available here. They appear to be competitively priced. Service was excellent. The shop is split over three levels. Not sure how you'd cope if you are mobility impaired.

5 star review  Excellent service. We wanted to bring wine from NZ homw to Europe, but shipping rates were so high and shipping times were so long that we decided to take it on the plane instead. The team here helped us package up 18 bottles of different wines we had tasted at wineries in Central Ontago and Malbourgh for a flight and everything arrived safely to Europe. Many, many thanks. We have some happy friends and family now!
