With a long list of gold medals and five star reviews, this Reserve Sauvignon Blanc from Rapaura Springs is obviously loved by all and represents great buying in Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc.

Winery notes (2017 Vintage)
"Our Reserve wine is made from the finest parcels of fruit from our 2017 harvest and characterised by the rich ripe tropical flavours and lovely palate weight found in the best examples of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. The fruit on the vine displayed excellent varietal intensitiy and once pressed at the winery, the juice was cold fermented in stainless steel to retain those clean, crisp fruit flavours. Fruit from the Wairau Valley sub-region brings generous, ripe, passionfruit flavours, the Dillon's Point imparts a delicious blackcurrant, herbal note and the Waihopai Valley offers a lovely mineral aspect to the wine.

Succulent passionfruit, guava and melon notes are underscored by delicate jalapeño and fresh herbal element. Layers of concentrated tropical fruit and stone fruit flavours are complemented by an attractive, flinty or mineral aspect on the full, rich palate. A mouth-watering, zesty, acidity frames a delicious and lingering finish."

5 Stars & 95/100 Bob Campbell MW, The Real Review, November 2017 (2017 Vintage)
"Always a high-performer this pungently fruity wine retains its position with the front-runners even in a difficult vintage like 2017. Passionfruit, guava dominate more herbal flavours. An ethereal texture and perfectly pitched balance complete the picture."

5 Stars & 95/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, August 2017 (2017 Vintage)
"A magnificent sauvignon, this is impressively fragrant on the nose showing mango, lime zest, sweet basil and rockmelon characters, followed by a concentrated palate that is succulent and persistent. The wine delivers loads of pristine fruit flavours, wonderfully framed by refreshing acidity. Irresistibly delicious. At its best: now to 2020."

5 Stars & 18.5/20 Raymond Chan, August 2017 (2017 Vintage)
"Bright, very pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues. This has a full, voluminous and intensely packed nose with passionfruit and tropical fruit aromas along with edgy herbs and snow peas, revealing subtle white floral elements. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate has penetrating flavours of passionfruit and fresh herbs, with notes of tropical fruits, snow peas and cut grass. The palate is mouthwatering with zesty acidity, and the wine flows along a very fine-textured phenolic line with good tension and acidity. The wine carries to an elegant, long and sustained finish of passionfruit, herbs and nettles. This is an intense and penetrating Sauvignon Blanc with aromas and flavours of passionfruit, edgy herbs, cut grass and tropical fruits on a zesty palate with very fine textures. Serve with Pacific Rim fare over the next 2 years. Fruit from the Rapaura, Dillons Point and Waihopai districts, fermented to 13.0% alc. and 3.5 g/L RS."

4 Stars Michael Cooper (2017 Vintage)
"Offering fine value, the 2017 vintage was grown in the Wairau Valley. Full-bodied, it has strong, ripe passionfruit/lime flavours, in a fleshy, dry style (3.5 grams/litre of residual sugar), vibrant, rich and well-rounded. It's already drinking well."

4 Stars Cuisine Sauvignon Blanc Tasting, December 2017 (2017 Vintage)
"This is a label that regularly delivers remarkable value, and this wine is no exception. The nose is floral and herbaceous. In the mouth green-edged and stonefruit flavours are lifted by flinty minerality and gentle acidity. A well-made, classic Marlborough style that would be a fine match for grilled salmon with a dill sauce."

90/100 IWC 2018 (2017 Vintage)
"Distinctive and unusual with a struck match, flinty note on the nose plus zesty lime juice. A real foodie wine."
