5 Stars & 93/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, June 2018 (2017 Vintage)
"Fabulously ripe and instantly appealing, the bouquet shows black cherry, blueberry compote, floral and warm spice aromas, leading to a concentrated palate that is succulent and fleshy. The wine offers terrific fruit purity and intensity, wonderfully complemented by velvety texture and silky tannins. At its best: now to 2021."
92/100 Jamie Goode, August 2018 (2017 Vintage)
"Textured and refined with nice density and a bit of spiciness. Nice concentration and texture with raspberry and cherry fruit and some well integrated oak. Ripe with a savoury twist."
90/100 Gary Walsh, The Wine Front, June 2018 (2017 Vintage)
"Pretty vanilla and cherry, some spice and perfume. Medium bodied, some grain and grip to the tannin, vanilla and red fruits of some depth, dried herb savoury, and a plump finish of good length. Crowd-pleasing and nicely done."
4 Stars & 18.0/20 Raymond Chan, June 2018 (2017 Vintage)
"Very full, deep, black-hued ruby-red colour with some purple tints, lighter on the edge. The nose is elegantly concentrated with deep aromas of ripe black cherries entwined with dark-red berry fruit and plums, subtle notes of dark herbs and some lifted, nutty oak, unfolding violet florals. Medium-bodied, the palate has an elegant but concentrated heart with flavours of ripe black berry and cherry fruit, along with plums and liquorice, subtle herbs and oak elements. The fruit is sweet and deep, and is supported by supple tannin extraction. The mouthfeel has light, lacy acidity lending poise and tension, and the wine carries to a sustained finish of cherries, berries and plums. This is an elegantly concentrated Pinot Noir with sweet black cherry and berry fruit with plum notes on a poised, supple palate. Match with lamb, beef and venison over the next 4-5 years. Fruit from Alexandra, fully destemmed and fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 8 months in French and Hungarian oak with 25% new oak equivalence."
Michael Cooper (2017 Vintage)
"The youthful 2017 vintage (3.5*) offers top value. Bright ruby, it is mouthfilling, with strong, well-ripened cherry, plum and spice flavours, slightly earthy and nutty notes adding complexity, and firm tannins. Best drinking 2020+."
