Winery notes (2018 Vintage)
"The 2018 Limestone Terrace Pinot Noir displays aromas of vibrant fresh blueberry and red current fruits, complemented by florals. The palate is complex with ripe red berry and plum fruits, fresh rosemary and thyme herbs.
The Limestone Terrace Vineyard is located in the Ward sub-region of Marlborough’s Southern Coast. Close proximity to the ocean means this spectacularly rugged site is exposed to the cool southerly winds that naturally inhibit yields. This Pinot Noir is rich with dark fruit flavours and fine structure."
Rated Excellent & 94/100 Cameron Douglas MS, August 2020 (2018 Vintage)
"Complex, savoury, varietal, youthful and engaging bouquet with aromas of dried herb and ripe red berries, fermented roses and dried cranberry, moderately toasty wood aromas with a touch of wood smoke. On the palate – dry, tense, fruity and textured with fine chalky tannins, medium+ acidity and core of fruit concentration just right for the weight and mysterious side that Pinot Noir can show. Great balance and lengthy finish."
4 Stars Michael Cooper (2018 Vintage)
"The 2018 vintage is a single-vineyard, Awatere Valley wine. Matured in French oak casks (32 per cent new), it is a ruby-hued, very graceful red, with cherry, plum and spice flavours, showing good complexity, and gentle tannins. Best drinking 2021+."
