Winery notes (2020 Vintage)
"Aromas of deep black doris plum, and dark cherry. Rich on the palate with blackcurrant, plum, forest floor notes and subtle spice. An elegant wine with classy tannins and a long vibrant finish."
5 Stars Michael Cooper (2020 Vintage)
"Certified organic and biodynamic, the classy 2020 vintage was estate-grown at Bendigo, hand-picked and matured in French oak barriques. Full, bright ruby, it has a fragrant, complex bouquet. Mouthfilling, it is savoury and well-structured, with deep cherry, plum and spice flavours, seasoned with nutty oak, ripe tannins and a finely balanced, lingering finish. A very ageworthy wine, it's well worth cellaring to 2025+."

5 Stars & 95/100 Bob Campbell MW, The Real Review, January 2021 (2019 Vintage)
"Intense and expressive pinot noir with plum, dark cherry, spice, thyme and anise, plus subtle spicy oak. A very impressive wine from a very good vintage. Power that’s delivered with considerable finesse."
Rated Excellent & 94/100 Cameron Douglas MS, June 2021 (2019 Vintage)
"Plush, ripe, fresh, youthful, varietal, fruity and loaded with pinosity. Aromas and flavours of dark cherry and plum, dried raspberry and rose. There’s also a core of minerality with a stony silty flavour and combined with tannins, acidity and a flavours of French oak – this wine delivers a food and palate ready expression. Dark berries, smoky oak and chalky tannins, plenty of pinosity and a lengthy finish. As always – expertly made with a long detailed finish. Best drinking upon purchase and through 2029."
Rated Excellent, 5 Stars & 93/100 NZ Wine Rater, September 2021 (2019 Vintage)
"A pungent, complex wine aromatically with an array of characteristics… dark berry compote, pot pourri, botanicals, and a savoury, almost vegemite note. A bold yet charming wine on the palate with plenty of flesh, and fruit weight, dark chocolate, and berry flavours, zesty acidity, and sappy, lively tannins. Moreish."
93/100 Joe Czerwinski, Wine Advocate, June 2021 (2019 Vintage)
"All from the estate vineyard in Bendigo, the 2019 Single Vineyard Pinot Noir features intricate shadings of sous-bois, herbal nuances, hints of mocha and ripe, black-cherry fruit. Medium to full-bodied—remember that Bendigo is one of the warmest subregions in Central Otago—supple and expansive in the mouth, this bold, rich example of Pinot Noir fits the age-worthy mold that has characterized owner Rudi Bauer's wines for three decades."
