Winery notes (2014 Vintage)
"Rich ruby in colour, displaying red berry fruit, spice and floral aromas on the nose leading on to an elegant well structured, mineral driven palate. The rich aromatics are accompanied by silky tannin and well-balanced acidity leading on to a long finish. This wine will reward cellaring over the next 6-10+ years from vintage.

The grapes were grown on our Home Vineyard located on a high elevation, steep, north-facing terrace in the Bendigo sub-region of Central Otago. This stunning site has soil that features clay and chalk mixed with schist and quartz.

The wine spent 17 months in French oak barrels from specific Burgundy cooperages and forests, of which 35% were new. The wine was bottled unfiltered under Diam cork which are certified taint-free on 11 th November 2015."

5 Stars Michael Cooper (2014 Vintage)
"This consistently rewarding red is estate-grown at a high-altitude site at Bendigo, in the Cromwell Basin. Barrel-aged for 17 months (35 per cent new oak) and bottled unfiltered, the classy 2014 vintage has full, fairly youthful colour. Mouthfilling, it is notably savoury and complex, with ripe plum, spice and nut flavours, concentrated, silky-textured and sustained. Already drinking well, it's well worth cellaring to 2019+."

5 Stars & 95/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, February 2018 (2014 Vintage)
"Magnificently complex and supremely elegant, the wine shows dark cherry, game, earthy mushroom, black olive and toasted almond notes on the nose. The palate offers lovely weight and roundness, combined with fine texture and polished tannins, leading to a beautifully long expansive finish. A wine of sophistication and classic structure. At its best: now to 2024."

93/100 Cameron Douglas MS, March 2017 (2014 Vintage)
"An elegant and charming bouquet of light savoury moments, wild flowers and red berry fruits, a layer of newer oak and related wood spices add depth and complexity. On the palate – fleshy, dry, fruity and tense with youthful yet fine and silky tannins, medium+ acidity and layers of wood spice and brown toasty spice especially vanilla and clove. Lengthy finish, balanced and well made."

Paul Tudor MW,, May 2018 (2014 Vintage)
"This wine has all the fruit intensity one expects from Otago pinot: dark-berry, wild-herb and chocolate characters. However, it is more than a simple fruit bomb. It is starting to show some savoury secondary development, lovely chalky tannins and complex mouthfeel. A sophisticated, grown-up pinot that I dare you not to fall in love with."
